What is a Firehawk?

In case you do not know, a Firehawk is a Pontiac Trans Am or Formula that, after rolling off the GM assembly line, is sent to a conversion facility operated by a company called Street Legal Performance (SLP). SLP modifies and refits the car with some aftermarket parts before being shipped back to the originating factory. Although neither advertised nor promoted in any way by GM, this conversion has GM's "blessing" and so, in spite of the aftermarket parts, the entire car enjoys the same warranty as any other Firebird.

Firehawk production ceased with the end of GM F-body production at the conclusion of the 2002 model year.
